Yes, book two following Detective Track Presius (and thereby his partner Satish whom I adore). You don't have to read Chimeras to read this book, Ms. Giorgi did an outstanding job of creating both books to stand alone. I have accidentally bought a book mid-series and then had to go buy the ones before it because you end up completely lost otherwise. On the flip side you also have the author who does the ridiculous recap, you know what I'm talking about, Terry Good kind whose first 200 pages are all recap (OK perhaps I exaggerate a bit but the further you get into his Sword of Truth series the wordier the recap). Thank you Ms. Giorgi for: A. Not bogging us down in review, and B. In forcing us to make sure we have read Chimeras (although I highly recommend you read it if you haven't).
Sadly it seems that Track and Diane might not work out. I am really pulling for Track to have a strong loving woman in his life. Maybe help anchor him?
Track yet again finds himself investigating one case only to have other cases that are seemingly unrelated coalesce into one case. I was quite happy that I didn't solve the case before he did (sadly because I do read a lot of mysteries it isn't unusual for me to so, stay away from formulas).
