"Third Daughter" by Susan Kaye Quinn, just finished (yes I am immediately starting book 2: "Second Daughter"). I just know that when I reach the end of the trilogy I'm going to be left bereft because it is over, but I will not be able to stop myself from staying up all night to read. *Le sigh* Intrigued? Oh you should be, and you should now be searching on Amazon etc. for the trilogy instead of still reading my unworthy post. First of all if you enjoy SteamPunk, your little clockwork heart will tick merrily along as you plunder the depths of intrigue, goggles, new lands, skyships, oh my... The cool twist that I loved? The Indian flair (to quote the author, " BollyPunk"). 'OK, but I don't know what the this SteamPunk thing is", you're saying. You don't have to in order to enjoy the book (and I'm pretty sure it is safe to bet, the series as well). Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Romance, but nothing horribly mushy and even better? The characters aren't jumping each others bones every two seconds (I really am tired of that, in case you can't tell). Shhh, there is some good kissing.
Now go, go my friends and acquire the book. Read, enjoy, and then read the whole series.
BTW: The Mindjack series kicked butt too; but I waxed poetically about that series already. I just thought I would add a poke about the series for those who haven't read it yet (shame...).
