The Presidents Club by FC Etier

I was so excited to be thrown in John Hixon’s world again. If I am ever in a jam, I want this man to have my back. Hixon finds himself embroiled in Thibaut’s business, this time protecting a group of men and not the man himself. If you read “The Tourist Killer” (the Presidents Club functions very well all on its on as a stand-alone novel, not many authors can accomplish that so kudos) you might remember Mr. Thibaut’s little jaunt to the Louisville Tavern where he passed an early evening gabbing with a group of older, and dare I say it, wiser gentlemen.  Thibaut felt enlightened that night and based upon that he draws up an “Initiative for Good Government”.  Thibaut promotes his Initiative across the country and has his men bring the group of guys into the circle, and as he does so Hixon’s special services are needed because not everyone likes the ideas set forth in the Initiative. As the story unfolds and the danger to each person increases the reader the reader learns that these aren’t your stereotypical “old men”, they are quite the characters. I absolutely got a kick out of these guys. You will get hooked on them, just can’t help it. FC Etier is quite talented at creating characters that leave you wanting more of them after you finish reading.
I was super happy and ooey-gooey over a certain romance (no worries, no spoilers). I was rooting for them in book 1. Seriously though Mr. Etier do you take your cues from George RR Martin?! Yes people, I yelled: “Nooo”, because you become invested in the characters and then yoink. *sigh* What’s the upside? If an author can make you care that much than it’s a good book to read, so go get it!
